Labac Tea Estate is located around 30 kms away from Head Quarter, Silchar. in the Cachar region of Assam in India. The soil status and climate are conducive to producing good quality teas. The garden is well accessible by road, nearest Silchar airport is just 30 kms from the garden.
After acquisition by Jayshree Tea and Industries in 1963, The management has made requisite investments in improving the quality and productivity of the output and as a result, Labac Tea Estate produces one of the finest Cachar teas from this region. which today stands as one of the highest in the Cachar region. The garden has been awarded I.S.O 9002 certification and is one of the best run tea plantation in Barrack Valley.
In addition to the mandatory P.L. ACT, the garden management has taken number of labour welfare initiatives and programs like providing staff quarters School, Scholarships for deserving candidates, Health and Hygiene awareness program, canteen at work place apart from organising medical camps for workers and people from nearby villages, literacy campaigns, cultural programs.
With investment in technology to increase output and improve quality and welfare of workers which lead to more productivity, Labac Tea estates is today producing the finest of Cachar teas with improved quality and increased output.
