The Factory of The Jay Shree Chemicals & Fertilizers is situated on the eastern bank of river Hooghly about one Km interior of B.T. Road in Khardah, West Bengal, India.
The Factory was commissioned in 1961 with facilities for manufacturing Sulphuric Acid and Single Superphosphate. We are marketing the Single Superphosphate under our Brand “Annapurna”.
The Company has kept pace with development of Technology in its field and has continuously adopted New Technologies in its processes by continuous revamping & modernization of its plants.
The process of manufacture of Sulphuric Acid was modified to adopt latest DCDA – Technology which resulted in lowest emission levels and also increased capacity simultaneously from 75 TPD to 100 TPD.
Similarly, both the SSP Plants as well as Granulated Fertilizer Plant were revamped and modified with a view to reduce emission levels and improve productivity.
The Company has undertaken effective energy conservation measures by installing a suitable Turbo-Alternator which utilizes the surplus steam available from both the Sulphuric Acid Plants.
Further augmentation of power generation Back Pressure type Turbine was replaced by fully condensing type turbine in June, 2005. With this implementation all the exhaust steam which was vented off from exhaust of Back Pressure type Turbine is fully condensed and recycled, beside generating more power, this helps in reducing consumption of treated water for our waste heat boilers which ultimately means reduction in use of water treatment chemicals like Sulphuric Acid and Caustic Lye.
To enable the company to meet the prescribed standards of West Bengal Pollution Control Board for its liquid effluents a full fledged Effluent Treatment Plant was installed in 1991.
A Green belt has been created inside the Factory and is maintained by planting sufficient number of saplings during rainy season every year. This helps in improvement of environment inside and outside the factory premises. All statutory data like Analysis Reports of Liquid Effluent, Ambient Air, Stack Analysis Reports etc. are being monitored regularly and sent to various statutory bodies of State and Central Governments. Statutory Bodies also conduct such monitoring regularly by their own agencies and reports are sent to us for our information.
Environmental audit is being conducted every year and reports are sent to various Statutory Bodies.
Our Unit has been awarded prestigious “Environmental Protection Award for Single Superphosphate Plant Category” for the year 1999-2000 by Fertiliser Association of India. This award was given by the Hon’ble Minister for Fertilizers, Government of India.
The Quality Control System is strictly maintained and reviewed periodically.
